He started his
career at
Koç Group,
Istanbul as Systems Analyst. He migrated
to Canada in 1982 & worked for
General Motors Co.
&
Bell Canada
International
as systems programmer &
management consultant, respectively. As
part of the Bell Canada team, he worked
on the privatization of
Malaysia Telecom
from 1986 to 1992.
He later established his own consultancy
company in Kuala Lumpur and provided
management consultancy services to major
international companies, such as IBM,
Fujitsu, Andersen Consulting & Petronas.
His major achievement in Malaysia was
project management of the design &
implementation of data/voice systems of
the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala
Lumpur.
He returned to Turkiye in 1997 & joined
Turkcell,
the leading mobile operator. As
Technical Director, he was responsible
for planning, investment, implementation
and operation of the GSM network.
Mr. Ünsal joined
SUPERONLINE
in 1999 as the General Manager and led a
young & dynamic team in creating and
providing high quality consumer and
corporate Internet services, and making
Superonline the leading ISP/Portal in
the Turkish Market.
Superonline has been elected as "The
Best ISP of Europe" in 2000. After
liberization of telecom sector in
Turkey, as the Managing Director, Savaş
Ünsal and the Team now transforming
Superonline as "New Generation
Telecommunication Operator" providing
data, voice, and multimedia to consumer
and corporate customers.
Superonline is
acquired back by Turkcell in 2009. After
serving at the Board, Mr. Ünsal has
left the operations of the company in
May 2010 and launched his consultancy
company; İCE İletişim Hizmetleri Ltd and
also founded
HOT! internetTV
platform.
